The Trachyphyllia Coral, often called an Open Brain Coral, is a vibrant and fleshy LPS coral known for its bold coloration and dramatic polyp expansion. It is highly valued in the reef-keeping community for its rich tones of red, green, blue, and metallic highlights that glow beautifully under reef lighting.

This coral has thick, fleshy tissue that inflates throughout the day, giving it a full and eye-catching appearance. Its unique shape and shifting color gradients make it a true centerpiece in any reef aquarium.

Trachyphyllia corals are considered easy care and thrive in tanks with stable water parameters, moderate lighting, and gentle to moderate flow. They do best when placed on the sandbed, where their soft tissue can expand without irritation. While hardy, they benefit from consistent feeding and stable nutrient levels to maintain strong coloration and overall health.

With proper care, the Trachyphyllia Coral becomes a long-lived and visually striking addition that brings depth, motion, and vibrant color to any reef tank.

Shipping Rates:

All coral orders need to be shipped priority overnight. This service has a flat rate of $50. There is no additional cost for additional corals added and shipping is FREE with orders over $350. We ship out on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Your order will be shipped out on Tuesday after cleared payment, unless you ask us to hold it for a specific day. Please put a note on the order for desired shipment day.  

All orders are shipped through FedEx Priority Overnight, no signature required unless you request it or if the order is over $800.  

DOA Warranty -- In an event of DOA, it is buyer's responsibility to send me a clear digital picture of dead coral within 2 hours of delivery. All approved DOA will receive store credit towards future purchase, shipping is non refundable .
